No doubt this house is beautiful and has all luxuries built-in. The house is for a family and each one can have a pleasant and peaceful time here. She said, “Putting the house on sale is a joint decision of our family, as we rarely use it. It is good, if it can be used by someone else. After all, its beauty should be cherished.”

It shows that the Chinese tennis isn’t going in the right direction and hasn’t developed much.

When she was bidding adieu to the game, she had expected another name to burst onto the scene pretty soon and become the centre of discussion among the fans.

But sadly it has not been the case and it still happens to be her only whom the fans talk about and while it should have been pleasing for her, it’s actually not.

She would ideally have preferred to have gone out of the minds of the fans and a new player to take her place.

Li reckons one of the problems with Chinese players of today is that they don’t rate themselves as highly as they should. They think they are not efficient enough to tackle tough opponents.

But to be successful at the world level, you need to back yourself against whomsoever you are up against.

Garbine Muguruza who is holding the second spot in the global rankings of players in the females’ category also has the same views about the Chinese players of current era.

Muguruza played against Li Na too and in her opinion, Li used to play the game with a lot more passion and fire, something which is missing in the new players that China has thrown up.

With the level of competition available today, tennis might never see another calendar grand slam. Rather more youngsters would likely keep usurping veterans while the established players try to remain relevant. The schedule is highly tasking and the game has intensified. The requirements are expanded and fitness regimes more rigorous. All these make it hard to win Grand Slam titles one after the other all year round. The idea of a calendar Grand Slam has even washed away – Serena’s feat in 2015 was close but it seems that is the end of it, in this generation.

So far, a lot of prodigies have been seen in women’s tennis such as Charlotte Dodd who in 1887 won the Wimbledon at the age of 15 and also Martina Hingis who was 16 years old when she came off victorious at the Australian Open in 1997.

However, in recent years, such successes being achieved at a young age are quite fewer and far between.

In 2004, Svetlana Kuznetsovaat the age of 19,won the US Open title and it’s been 13 years ever since then. Kuznetsova’s win came soon after the triumph of Maria Sharapova at Wimbledon at the age of 17.

The lack of wonderkids doesn’t come as a surprise to Arantxa Sanchez. Arantxa who was a former world No 1 holds that for a breakthrough to be achieved, playing on the junior circuit alone isn’t enough.

Arantxa who turned pro at the young age of 14 said; “In our generation, we turned professional at a much younger age. As a result, our champions were very younger,”

Three years later after going pro, she won the 1989 French Open defeating Steffi Graf to emerge victorious. In an era where some of her contemporaries included the likes of Gabriela Sabatini,Mary Pierceand Monica Seles, she went home with four Majors. By the age of 20, all of them had won a Grand Slam and Graf had completed a Golden Slam.

The male personnel at the event will be dressed by legendary men’s fashion brand, Vince Camuto.

The BNP Paribas Showdown over the course of its decade at Madison Square Garden has really become a must-see event. The event in past years has hosted a number of stars in the tennis world such as Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Andy Murray, Ivan Lendl, Andre Agassi, Mike and Bob Bryan,JelenaJankovic, Gabriela Sabatini, Maria Sharapova, Monica Seles and a host of others.

While the star showed great skill and resilience during her time on the track, it was hardly evident that she avoided the attention of the public. A true lioness in her day, she said “I was very introverted; I had some issues at school because I was very inward looking.”

Known for her tactical and competitive nature, the 43-year old currently has a line of perfumes named after her. According to her, ahead of her previous match, she was not provided a court where she could practice. When her coach went to the officials and asked for one, they told him that the only practice court which was there was already booked for some other player. Kuznetsova also complained about ball boys saying that even they had been lazy and not discharging their duties properly. She says she has noticed the ball boys and none of them moves quickly to collect the ball and instead wait for the other one that maybe he would go and do the job.

Kuznetsova reckons those who are new to their sports and are playing Olympics for the first time, they might be reluctant to publicly express their unhappiness about the problems they have had to suffer in Rio, but, she is someone who would not remain silent and would speak.

Kuznetsova is in pre quarter final at the moment and later today, she will be playing Johanna Konta of UK.

The statements that Chardy had made regarding Murray’s withdrawal from the Masters tournament in Rome would still have been quite fresh in the Scot’s mind and he would be pretty eager to prove a point to the Frenchman.

Murray had withdrawn himself from Rome citing weariness and Chardy was not happy about it at all.

According to Chardy, every player in the world looks to keep himself fresh and in proper shape for the slams, but, leaving a tournament in the middle phase just because of weariness is probably not the right thing to do.

Chardy, however, was of the view that it’s Murray’s career and thus, he’s totally entitled to make his decisions.

In the pre match interview, when Chardy was reminded of his statements, the 28-year old said, “I did not appreciate it to be honest. You go into a competition feeling well, you win the first match and then, all of a sudden, you pull out because of tiredness. It sounds a little weird, doesn’t it? But, then, it’s your career and you have every right to decide what you want to do.”

“Of course, if he ends up becoming the Champion of Roland Garros, people would say he made the correct decision of pulling out of Rome. It’s a performance oriented thing. If you perform well, everything is alright. There would be no criticism. But, if you lose, it’s the other way around.”

When asked if he thinks Murray would get a bit of support tomorrow because of his coach Mauresmo who is of French nationality, Chardy said, “No, Amelie is not an active player at the moment whereas I am. So, I would be getting all the support I am sure.”

The best thing for both parties was to part ways.

In a statement released by her agent, Navratilova was quoted as saying “I could not devote as much time as the role required me to and thus, the situation was getting improper. I initially thought I would manage, but it did not turn out to be that way. So, there was no option but to withdraw from it.”

Radwanska’s problem recently has been her tendency to get knocked out from the tournaments in the initial stages, and it has been a while since she entered the tournament as one of titanbet’s favourites.  The last tournament in which she had made it to the finals was at Wimbledon in 2012.

To sort the technical deficiencies in her game and get a little more consistent, she had opted for the services of Navratilova but, obviously, it did not work out in the manner she would have liked.

The Polish tennis star took to a social networking site yesterday to pay tribute to Navratilova for whatever effort she put in behind her.

That post of hers read, “I really enjoyed the time that I spent with Martina working on my game. I wanted the association to be much longer, but, it was hard for her to be totally committed to the job and thus, we decided to part ways. She is an absolute legend of the game and the insight that she has provided me will be of great use.”

Nobody has won more major trophies than Navratilova in the history of the game if we take the singles and doubles category all into accounts together – she’s got more than 50 Slam titles to her name – so her expertise will be dearly missed by Radwanska.
