Gabriela Sabatini’s compatriot, Juan Monaco, has defeated Vasek Pospisil of Canada in the second round of the Rogers Cup. Monaco won the match easily in the straight sets by 7-5, 6-4 and made his way to the third round. The local player, who had got the entry by the virtue of wild card, didn’t manage to make Monaco work hard for his points. Monaco hit a total of 4 aces in the match and wrapped up the match in 1 hour and 50 minutes.
Monaco made a fantastic start to the match by breaking the service of Pospisil in the very first game of the first set. He served out the second game to make the score 2-0. The Canadian player held his service in the next game and the score was 2-1. After that, both the players broke each other’s service in the next eight games and at the end of the 11th game; the scorecard was saying 6-5.
